At exit 22 on I-40 we stopped at the Mid Point Café on Route 66 which is 1139 miles from Chicago IL and 1139 miles from Los Angles CA. They were closed for a winter break, BUT….. While taking some photos ….. A lady in a golf cart pulled up and wanted to know if we wanted to go in and look around…… WooooHoooo It was the owner Fran. Let me tell you this lady was GREAT, she told us tons of history on the place and all the things that went on when they filmed the TV show “Great American Road Trip”. We even got to see the license plate from the winners the DiSalvatore’s on the wall that they signed and sent them. Fran gave us a free bumper sticker and some papers on the place. If we come back through this way we will have to stop again. She made us hungry talking about the food, plus the place is a must stop if you ask us.
